This is The Catcher in the Rye Wiki, a community devoted to 1951 novel The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. You can help expanding this knowledge database by signing up and contributing to the articles in adherence to the site policy.

Set in the 1920s, The Catcher in the Rye is about the recollections of a troubled teenager from New York named Holden Caulfield. Thematically, it explores facets of angst, rebellion, alienation and loss of innocence. Though deemed controversial at the time of its release, The Catcher in the Rye has been read in widely in US high schools, and is regarded as a literature classic.
